Red and copper hair, in all its various guises, is also having a moment. “The right red can be hugely flattering,” says colourist Nicola Clarke. “I might use a soft color glaze, a rich deep pigment, or multidimensional tones to create the perfect color to enhance a person’s skin tone.” We’ve also seen coppery brunettes take off (like singer Anitta’s current Titian strands). “Warm brunettes are more golden-based and will reflect copper in different lights,” says celebrity colorist Matt Rez. That’s because the shade leans on the yellow and red undertones of brown rather than reflecting cool purple. “A warm brunette can be solid or even better one with baby highlights or streaks of perfectly blended dark golden bronde to add texture.”

This also helps with the quality and condition of the hair because you don’t have to use loads of bleach to create this look, it’s a real mix of tones,” London colourist Gemma Smidmore told GLAMOUR.
