Julie Andrews. I actually went on tour with Julie for two weeks. It was one of them: a “Night with…” type thing. By the first day she knew all the crew members’ names and was chatting with everyone, telling stories and asking about our lives. to make sure we all get enough rest and food. When our breakfast delivery was delayed, she literally stopped rehearsal so we could go eat. And at her final show, she hugged us all and gave us a bottle of whiskey and a handwritten thank you note. There’s only one time when the show is over and we’re all a little sad because we’ll never see her again.A beautiful woman inside and out.
The late Fred Rogers. I met him when I was a young punk working at a video rental store. He really was a saint. He chatted with us for a while and treated me and my metalhead colleagues with the same respect and love he treated everyone on his show.
