I have seen this over and over again. Productive employees get buried and burned out while lazy people enjoy work-life balance and smoke with their bosses.
At one of my first jobs, one of the first lessons passed on to me by an older colleague was: “
No one at work will dictate your health. You have to be someone who takes care of yourself. Take a damn sick day and don’t feel bad about it. You only have one life, and once you die you have the trust that they will replace you before it cools down. be happy.
I had a deadline to turn in my work for the month. Her wife used to work there and she gets her work done before the deadline, but she advised her to keep it a secret and turn it in at the end of the month. . She worked like a charm.
I am 78 years old and learned decades ago that even the upper echelons can replace everyone.
At work, I learned that reporting harassment from a colleague won’t solve anything. I’m dealing with it now, but the man continues to threaten me by calling me a rat.
If you leave earlier than a slower employee, you will be considered a lazy employee regardless of output/efficiency/quality of work.
If slavery became acceptable again, most employers would immediately engage in slavery. They really want to get your job for free (most minimum wage/entry level jobs)
I have been working since I was 14 years old. Today, over 20 years in a variety of roles, I am with Corporate America. No one says they regret not working harder, not doing OT, spending more time with their family. Don’t give private time to work. My motto is “Eight and Skate” and I live LOVE away from this world. We literally spend more time with our colleagues than with our own family.

This year I applied for leave (unpaid) but was turned down because it was too difficult to replace me. So, I sent a notice and said that if I could take those two days off, I could stay for two months.
I took a break and stayed there for two months. And they replaced me with two lol. Two others left after I went.
when starting a new job. Try to do the same amount of work as your colleagues. There’s nothing newer than achieving an employee’s showing off to all their colleagues. And your boss will forever expect more from you.
Confidence, even beyond confidence, can get you ahead of hard work. Perception is everything, work is the least important. At least in corporate work.
You can fall dead on the job, and position vacancies will be posted the next day. If they decide to wait that long.
I work for a great company. I love working for this company. But no matter what happens, I won’t pull my leg in my place. In fact, I applied for my position before my successor was officially fired.
You can’t eat with a closed mouth. can i get to work? No need to wait for attention. Pick it up while you can, and if it’s not going anywhere, skip the ship.
Those who add value to the business are given the opportunity to add even more value. Businesses worth doing are looking out for more people who can add more value.

If you have your own business and that business is run by s**tbags eager to exploit you, it’s time to bring back the chainsaw and set it up on a rock or a car or a chain link fence. You are in the wrong place. Find a place where your tools are recognized for their value. And don’t quit your job because of your love of money. Having a job is the best way to get a job.
But if you want to complain to comfort yourself to get through the day, you can do that too. But it’s a worse day and more disgusting to talk about unfair reasons why you aren’t successful when others are.
Once the project is finished:
Non-executors receive rewards.
Performers are punished.
An unassociated get occurs.
The squeakiest wheels get promoted.
This would probably get voted down to oblivion, but
you are your best supporter.
In a non-Reddit caricature workplace, efficiency and additional responsibility are the only paths to recognition and promotion. Make sure you defend yourself and know that your current boss expects you to be rewarded for the extra work you are taking on. I have to.
This only applies to exempt salaried positions. I don’t know how things work with hourly or non-exempt.
