Every year, Grandma gave everyone toilet paper, deodorant, toothpaste, cotton swabs… I didn’t realize how amazing it was until she was gone.
Grandma didn’t have much money, so she would shop at Kroger and spend whatever she saved on Christmas toiletries.
One time we were doing this white elephant thing (I don’t remember the exact rules, but basically everyone brings a gift and everyone leaves with another gift ). The plan was to buy something goofy and funny, like the risk-free stuff you see at Spencers or something. Everyone laughed and thought it was funny, but I couldn’t even receive such a wonderful gift.
Last year my father gave me a box of snacks. But they were all from childhood when he would get me if I was emotional in any way.

My mom always gives me a “care package” that includes toilet paper, paper towels, dish soap, laundry detergent and a Costco trash bag. I look forward to that s**t every year. You don’t have to worry about buying something like that for a few months.
One year when I was pretty poor, someone gave me a nice tote bag full of fresh produce. All of a sudden I had a nice stockpile of soup, crackers, cookies, etc., and on top of that, a tote to store things when they were empty!
It was much more convenient for me than anything they could have given me, such as a soap set.

Restaurant gift cards, especially for local non-chain restaurants. You give them a reason to eat out with their SO. It’s thoughtful and usually brings them a lot of joy.
A really good version of what is usually cheap. A nice pen, good tea or coffee, and a nice leather bound notebook. Even the nicest versions of most of these will be under $50, but still really luxurious.
Nice sheets and towels. Everyone enjoys them, but no one can justify spending a fortune on sheets and towels.
One year when I didn’t have much money but had lots of wrapping paper, I bought random groceries and wrapped them up. No one complained. I got a call when I used the pasta/cake mix/pancake box after a few months.

MIL always gives my husband and I, BIL and his girlfriend a huge box of Christmas groceries. Laundry detergent, paper towels, dog treats, Lysol, dish soap, bounce sheets, Kleenex, and more. BIL previously had a girlfriend whom she complained about and said she never wanted to receive again. I think it’s the best present. Totally underrated and totally helpful!
Massage. I think the only people who don’t need a massage today are those who got it yesterday. Many people who have never had it do not realize the benefits of getting it, and it can be life-changing for those who have lived with some type of pain.
As a cat owner: cat food and cat litter for your cat (or gift cards from each store). It is something that is always needed and much appreciated at any time of the year.
Basically: if you don’t know – all about cats.

Show up at Christmas with a bag and say lights or USB C and hand them over or be a god tier and give everyone one each of the 6ft long with fast chargers. People who need more cables and think the extra length isn’t enough or they’re just using the charger that came with their device.

Obtained once each. life change. Small but positive things like this that motivate you to keep things clean that may have gotten out of hand.

That stuff is too expensive to buy yourself, like $100 per kg, everyone loves jerky. One year my cousin got a huge jar of jerky and we sat around the Christmas tree and devoured it.
A well made multi-tool like Leatherman or Victorinox. Finding someone portable enough to keep in their pocket/car/purse means they are more likely to use it. is also much more convenient.
When I was a kid, I felt sorry for my uncle who bought me socks for Christmas. As an adult, I look forward to it and most of the time the most appreciated gift he is one.
Extra phone charger and wire organizer. I am very happy to have a spare charger in case my charger goes missing or breaks. It’s something you probably don’t even think about until it happens, and you’re in a rush to find a charger before your phone breaks.
Wire/cord organizers are great all year round.
