I’m an Italian photographer and I took pictures of cats in Venice with their owners (20 photos)
After spending some time filming indoors, around mid-2017, I got back to shooting ‘on the road’ and felt the need to resume what I had started a while ago. “Venetian cat” It started from there:
When I spoke directly to the Venetians and asked for information about the cats that live in their city and roam freely around the city, I immediately received a large number of reports, not only collecting a series of shots, but also some unexpected surprises for this project. was greeted with enthusiasm. Tell me more about the different cats in the city.
You see a lot of pictures of Venetian cats, but what really sets my pictures apart from others is the fact that behind my pictures there is an idea, an organized structure, and a “data-gathering” task. I think. A project that ties them all together and tells more about them. It was the reports I received that led me to choose a project composition with photographs and their descriptions to express the life and personality of each cat depicted. For the most part, cats weren’t just cats, they were “famous.” Cats with apt names and specific areas of “ability”.
