‘Why would I wake up early just to wake him up?’: Woman not invited to husband’s family Christmas and won’t wake him up for flight
It’s not uncommon in cultures around the world for people to stay up late and miss something, be it a flight, an important meeting, or a date. Especially Christmas. Suffice it to say, this is probably the best Christmas movie plot of all time.yes we are talking home alonebut the story I want to tell you today is not all that interesting.
In fact, not all Christmas stories end with a happy ending, sometimes the very special magic of Christmas just doesn’t work for whatever reason, family drama ensues, relatives insult each other, and only Santa. really knows how to handle it all.
For example, very recently Post this story User u/Age_Philosophy3776 appeared on the AITA Reddit community and got over 8.7K ups and almost 2K comments in a very short amount of time. It’s a story that Hollywood will one day make a movie (if he doesn’t catch up with the series sooner than Netflix), and for now, we’ll try to figure it out in more detail.

Therefore, the author of the post has been married for several years and, as she herself says, her husband was the only son in the family, raised by his mother and three sisters. Her original poster goes on to say, it’s no surprise that the guy was pretty spoiled.

Relatives often accused the author of “lack of respect” for her husband
At first, the wife perceived all this as just a cute quirk, especially since the husband’s mother herself and his sisters called this attitude simply “showing love and gratitude.” But then her in-laws began accusing her of “insufficient respect” for her own spouse, and her husband himself regularly wanted more than just a good attitude. .

Her spouse continued to attend meetings, but the wife-in-law literally cut ties with his wife
A series of altercations with her husband’s relatives ensued – and it all ended with the fact that they actually cut ties with the OP and generally stopped inviting her to various family events. Considering that her husband continued to attend the gathering, I can fully understand her feelings. Anyone but her husband…but what can she do in this situation?

This Christmas, the man decided to leave his wife at home and take a flight to visit relatives.
Everything changed for Christmas when the OP’s husband flew in to visit relatives for another family gathering, leaving his wife at home. The night before the flight, the guy put away his phone as usual (OP says he doesn’t like sleeping next to his electronics on) and happened to oversleep. By the way, his wife also overslept.

The man overslept and missed his flight, but blamed his wife for not getting up early.
The couple got up quite late and the husband rushed headlong to the airport to buy tickets for another flight, but on Christmas Day this was completely unrealistic. – and couldn’t find anything better than throwing a tantrum for not waking his own wife early!

She was absolutely under no obligation to do this, and in fact all of the OP’s perfectly logical argument that her husband didn’t even ask her to wake up was scrapped. The man accused his wife of ruining the vacation, later joined by his mother and sisters in the accusation. He claimed that he had isolated him from his family.

But those in the comments unanimously sided with the woman, calling her husband selfish and thoughtless.
As it happens, the only people who actually endorsed the original poster were the commenters who unanimously endorsed her. Her commenter also believes her husband is treating the OP badly, so she should get two cards, one for a marriage counselor and one for a divorce attorney, and she calls her You can choose who you want to serve.
Most commentators are convinced that a husband should celebrate Christmas with his wife, not his sisters or mother. Don’t sleep on your morning flight. According to people in the comments, the OP’s husband was being selfish leaving her for Christmas and actually has relatives who don’t have the backbone to protect her.
