Potholes are every driver’s nightmare. Photographers such as Claudia Ficca and Davide Luciano can help if the government fails to fix them. This creative couple decided to look at the intrusive experience of going through cracks and holes from a different perspective. Their ironic photo series “My Potholes” turns them into playful settings for the photographer’s imagination.

The idea for this project came from individual experiences after hitting a hole in my own neighborhood in Montreal. Claudia and David used themselves as models at first, but soon with the support of family and friends, their creativity began to run wild. What started as a joke turned out to be such a fun experience that it took me to cities like Toronto, New York and Los Angeles. Artists say they’ve learned that sometimes it’s more important to change the way you look at things than to actually fix them.
