Social media is already downright terrible when it comes to attention duration, with a lot of distractions in 30s clips only increasing that problem exponentially.

My name is Vaping. I patted myself on the head as a New Year’s resolution. For the first time I was completely nicotine-free, still going strong, but about 90% of the time I felt like I was coughing up my lungs. I started vaping to quit. I hate watching young children and teens smoke – people who have never even considered smoking.
EDIT: I’m talking about disposable arcs, should have made that clear beforehand.
Almost all (over) processed excesses. Most people eat too much meat, sugar, salt, saturated fat, caffeine, nitrates/nitrites, etc. caffeine. Processed foods these days are so addictive and scary that once you get used to them, you can’t stop eating them.
EDIT: I’m aware that not all kinds of processing are inherently bad. This is an AskReddit thread, not a science forum, and I’m sure most people know exactly what kind of processing I mean.
negative.
No, I’m just choosing to look at everything in a negative light instead of being angry or sad for good reason.
This comes from an optimist, so take this with a grain of salt.
anger. It’s just toxic to your mental health, but we thrive on it and crave it. make you feel popular. Worse, it’s convenient for those in control, so you can’t get away with it. You need to have the will to solidify.
Red 40 in the US. It is banned in some countries and restricted in many others. When children have a “sugar rush” it is often the effect of the red dye 40.
It is associated with childhood aggression and psychiatric disorders such as attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD). A review of 34 studies estimated that 8% of children with ADHD living in the US, UK, Australia, and Canada may have behavioral symptoms associated with synthetic food coloring.ADHD Studies in children have shown that restricting synthetic food dyes from the diet significantly improves symptoms.
Here’s an article with tons of Pubmed articles explaining the details.

soda. I drank a lot. I had terrible health issues and sleep problems. I cut it all out. Probably two years without it. I feel better, get sick less, sleep better, and function better overall. If you live in the Western world, you most likely have clean drinking water pumped into your home.
I don’t believe in banning something because I don’t like it, but I think shit is poison. It’s also super addictive. The first few weeks I cut soda were rough.
EDIT: I’ve never seen a comment get this kind of attention before. Seeing your reply soon, I want to say congratulations to anyone who has quit the habit or like smoking. I’m in It’s not bad if you drink it in moderation. I admit I was really bad at it.
My main concern with that is that there’s nothing good about Coke or Pepsi. It’s just sugar, caffeine, and addictive ingredients. That’s why I use the word poison. It has only negative consequences. That being said, if you enjoy soda than opt for it. it’s your life. Even better if you do it in moderation. The problem is that we have a very hard time selling it to our children and many parents end up spoiling their children. My parents made me eat too much.
Also, all mine are anecdotes. I’m not a doctor, but every doctor I’ve seen when I was younger said I needed to stop drinking. is not. it caught up with me. If you’re young now and you’re banging a few cans a day, it’s probably going to hurt you too. We were in the same boat.
food.
Just being overweight shortens the average healthy life expectancy by one year. With enough overweight, it will be shortened by 10 years.
