Genius doesn’t have to be complicated. In fact, it often isn’t. The best product designs are often the ones that solve consumer problems. something mistaken.

The reality is that not all product designers are aligned with what the end user actually needs or wants. Sometimes their vision conflicts with practicality.

The solution itself doesn’t have to be a marvelous feat of engineering to wow and fascinate the whole world. Just a few design changes to change the shape, angles and lines of the item in question to make it more user-friendly.

Simplicity is at the heart of Redneck Engineering. Redneck engineers (who don’t really have to be rednecks or engineers) are big fans of Occam’s razors. They take the most straightforward approach when solving problems.

Redneck engineering is simplicity. It’s about being candid. It’s a disguise to think on your feet and use the tools and materials you have at hand to get out of trouble.

It sums up humanity incredibly well, as it shows how flexible we can all be when circumstances call for it. Admittedly, it may not look pretty! But don’t knock if it works.

Founded in the middle of summer 2013, the online community has become one of Reddit’s most famous groups. As of this writing, the r/redneckengineering subreddit has already grown to 659,000 members and shows no signs of waning in popularity anytime soon.

The moderator team reserves the right to interpret whether a member’s post is “in the spirit of the sub”. They point out that engineering solutions need not be parochial to quality, a classic example of engineering parochialism.

On the other hand, community members should do their best to avoid reposting popular photos. Try to focus on originality instead of piling up as much karma as possible. You should also avoid claiming that you created something you didn’t create. Be fair to yourself and others and give credit as a matter of course.
