And, of course, when another similar plot from an overly picky person ends in a spectacular failure, when they are subjected to the ridicule of all their colleagues and acquaintances, we rejoice with pleasure. Unless, of course, our most curious colleagues are ourselves. however, this funny storythe narrator was just an observer.
A few months ago, a new colleague joined the author’s company, and another colleague determined that he was gay for some reason.

However, the man was heterosexual, married, and had two children who attended the same school as the author’s children.

In the weeks that followed, the woman made questionable remarks about a colleague’s sexual orientation.

A joint family trip was organized and it all came to a head on Easter when Charles also brought his wife and children

The woman literally said she was gay in front of Charles, but became embarrassed when Charles introduced her to his wife.
So the original poster (OP) says that shortly before Easter last year, a new employee came to the company he works for – let’s call him Charles. Turned out to be an excellent professional and a great person. As such, they easily became friends, and so did his wife. Moreover, both male children attended the same school, after all.
And now it’s time to introduce that very picky character – it was an employee named Betty. Did. According to the woman, the recruit sometimes behaved “overly feminine”, spoke in a soft voice, and had feminine quirks. It only took me a few minutes to hear what I grew up with, and everything became pretty clear.
But Betty didn’t know that! She didn’t even know Charles had two children. The OP didn’t even bother to pass this information on to her. As a result, the woman made all sorts of shady remarks about Charles over the next few weeks. “I can feel this stuff” or “Straight men don’t walk around like that”. However, such confidence soon played a cruel joke on Betty.
On Easter, the company decided to have a family outing with burgers and such. Of course, Charles came with his wife and children, but for some reason Betty thought that this was their nanny. When her man approached to greet her, she exclaimed: is he here? Charles was very surprised and finally realized what Betty was hinting at and said, “I’m not gay, Betty!”
At this point the woman would have kept quiet, but unfortunately she didn’t give up and began trying to convince Charles not to hide who he was. It seems that I was able to introduce you to the picnic because I was with you. Just at that moment, like the best sitcoms, Charles’ wife showed up – and Betty was ready to literally collapse on the spot from embarrassment.

But Betty managed to squirm. Yes, this will prevent her from showing her face to Charles again, but she has chosen the OP as her new target. But the OP was convinced it wasn’t his job, and many of his colleagues, including his wife, Charles himself, sided with him.
Not to mention, people in the comments also pointed out that this had absolutely nothing to do with the original poster: if Betty really wanted to be embarrassed, no explanation would have stopped her.
