29 year old female and newborn mom I turned to the AITA community On Reddit for moral judgment.
“I asked my mom to help me take care of the newborn so I could go back to work after my vacation,” explained the Redditor, who goes by the nickname erika_urrrika. She also added that her 64-year-old mother “has been a stay-at-home mom/stay-at-home mom since 1992 and she hasn’t been part of the workforce since.”
The author thought this was the perfect plan as he was having financial troubles, including debts awaiting repayment and saving to buy a more spacious apartment for his growing baby. .
But to the Redditor’s surprise, the mother refused to help raise the baby.
A 29-year-old woman asked if it was wrong to expect a stay-at-home mom to take care of her new baby because she needs to go back to work.
