On Oct. 2, the singer and Fenty Beauty founder stepped out to celebrate A$AP Rocky’s 34th birthday in a thigh-high slit dress and new swoop bangs that felt decidedly retro. Like the hairstyle that rose to popularity in the early 2000s, the bangs extended just below her eyebrows and swept across her forehead from the left side. It’s possible the look was created with a wig, but it looks so good we can’t help but hope it’s here to stay.

If you’re nervous about taking the plunge with long bangs, celebrity hairstylist and Unite brand ambassador César DeLeön Ramîrez previously told POPSUGAR that the hair trend is actually quite versatile, works on any hair length and “looks great with short to long layers . ” To style the look, he recommended applying a smoothing blow-dry cream to damp hair, then blow-drying with a round brush before sweeping the hair to the side.
