It’s a way to style your grown bangs.
Anyone who has tried to grow out bangs knows that there is always an awkward stage where the length of your grown out pieces are just a little too long to wear as bangs, but not long enough to pull them behind the ears. It looks like Billie Eilish, the queen of choppy bangs, has found a solution to the awkward phase with her latest red carpet look for the Environmental Media Association Awards Gala in Los Angeles—and it involves the beloved Y2K hair accessory, snap clip.

#1 Billie Eilish wearing Snap Clips
Wearing a full-length baggy sage green silk shirt and pant set, Billie wore her hair pulled back in a sleek low bun with a center part. She left her face-framing pieces of hair out of the bun to fall around the length of her jaw. To keep the grown bangs smooth and out of her face, she used black studs to style them and clipped them around ear level. The end result created a curtain bang-like effect with the black snap clips that perfectly matched her jet black hair.
#2 Billie’s sleek low bun
Billie posted a series of high-angle selfies of the look on her Instagram with a simple caption with a wink. Just last week, Billie posted another series of photos with her bangs in full style in front of her face. Since unveiling new choppy bangs early last year, the musician (and hair chameleon) has worn her bangs as full bangs, voluminous side bangs and curtain bangs.
#3 Billie’s middle hair
With Billie’s new red carpet hairdo, we can only assume the star is looking to experiment with ways to get scared-less (just for one night, anyway). With her subtle take on Y2K hair accessories, Billie makes a case for tucked away curtain bangs reminiscent of pre-blonde Billie. Now all that remains is to bring bang her former signature green regrowth.
